Velin Inc.

During my time with Velin, I was a crucial member of a three-person team consisting of myself, Dr. Brian Bennett (former X-Games snowboarder & company funder), and a technician.  Velin was a startup built on custom designed and US hand-made snowboards, longboards, and skateboards based out of central Massachusetts.  The shop (machine floor, graphics loft, and front store/showroom), pictured below, started as a completely empty warehouse when I first arrived.  After building the company literally from scratch, Velin became a quick hit sellout.  My involvement had me working Thursdays through Mondays between summer courses at Northeastern University, doing anything from running the CNC machine, CAD software, and heavy machine shop equipment to printing and applying vinyl graphics for the company advertising BMW Alpina car. 

At Velin, my daily tasks included running the machine shop, running the graphics loft, designing boards with CAD software, using the CNC machine, writing manufacturing procedures for future employees, optimizing manufacturing procedures, and innovating creative company choices in the very early growth stages of the startup company.  Some samples of our work are shown below.
